Decanter
December 2014

T’is the season when wine publications publish their ‘best of’ lists. Today sees the UK’s easily most respected wine journal Decanter, release theirs.

We are pleased to announce that three wines from Old Bridge Cellars’ portfolio beat out thousands of wines from around the world to gain a place in Decanter’s Top 50 Wines of 2014, all of them scoring an impressive 19/20 pts:

Leeuwin Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
“Youthful, stylish blackberry fruit that opens up in the glass. Amazingly pure aroma, and a dense palate, which is full of generous sweet fruit. The wine is attractive, pleasurable and long. Stunning!”

John Duval Entity Shiraz 2012
“For me, the best edition of the well-crafted Shiraz. The nose is ripe and mellow, with layers of rich blackberry and plum. There’s a wealth of spice and soulful, earthy depth and a smoky, tarry edge too. The palate is smoothly honed, with a dense mid-palate that offers bright blackberry and plum flavors. Deceptively sturdy tannins carry hauntingly throughout and merit considerable cellaring if you can manage to keep your hands off it!”

Greywacke Pinot Noir 2012
“Elegant with concentrated red cherry, violet, mixed spice and coffee flavors. Sweet fruit is balanced by fine tannins which help drive a lengthy finish. A taut, thoroughbred that needs time to unlock its obvious complexity.”
