Langton’s Classification is a highly prestigious ranking system noting the most iconic wines of Australia. Based on reputation and auction track record, wines may be classified within three tiers: Exceptional, Outstanding and Excellent. “Exceptional” wines are the most highly sought after, “first growth” Australian wines. “Outstanding” wines are “super second” Australian wines of outstanding quality and provenance. Wines considered “excellent,” are classic Australian wines of consistent excellence.
